I really appreciate being able to look at my family history. My father, Ian Neilson, explained to me that his cousin, Fergus Neilson came to visit him and his family in Banff way back in the 1940's. My father then explained about this website. Thank you for doing all this work.

What a great site.
My grandfather was George Hobson and he was born in Christchurch, Canterbury, New Zealand. His father was George Hobson of Kilmore, Co. Armagh and he married Sarah Elizabeth Marshall and they then moved to New Zealand in 1890. On their marriage certificate it shows his father as George Hobson too. So three generations of Georges'. There may well be a connection between us but as yet, I have come to a halt on any further ancestry for the moment.
Small world, my daughter works on King Street, Toronto where Benjamin Hobson may have worked.

I stumbled upon your site and am very impressed! Hambly George (1847-1926) is my great great grandfather. I'm also in contact with Joseph Hambly George (b.1917) here in PA and Joe George III in Missouri. Joe III has a number of photos from Canada whom we cannot identify, I sent him a link to your site. Joe H. George and I have information on the PA Georges. I look forward to hearing from you.

Hi, my daughter was googling some info on the area of Riverview and came across a photo of our home at 338 Baltimore Road in Winnipeg, what a great surprise. I think Frank and Lillian Bretz may have been the first owners of this beautiful home having lived here from 1918 until 1938. We have connected several times with the sons on the second owners, The Alexanders. We moved here in 1997, having previously lived across the backlane, from Ashland Ave. We love the area and the home. Would anyone have any old photos of the home or a photo of Frank and Lillian and their family. I've been trying to find some. You might be interested to know that I am of Mennonite heritage, my grandparents having come from Russia in 1925.

What a great site! Thanks very much for all the info you have gathered. Very well organised. My family came from Ireland who came from Craigcaffie when William was granted land at Rosscommon.
All the best and thanks again. :!thinking:
