IN MEMORY OF A DEAR FRIEND, DAVE PRIDIE

by Patricia Meilleur

The stars above look down bright and blinking,

They know down there you're asking and thinking

Why, Dave so young, so soon had to go.

Just when his life was set all aglow.

So much to give, so little time,

The reason he's gone is surely sublime.

His short life on earth was full and was kind,

His family left grieving, left sadly behind.

With memories, fond, we remember dark eyes,

His ponytail hair, or new style surprise.

The sandals he wore in his days of past fun,

On soft warm beaches, boating summer's hot sun.

Friends he held dear, his family too,

The love he gave freely, his animals knew.

The computer his joy, and will always remain,

A legacy within, his treasured domain,

Dave's memory is forever, as the games play on,

A mother's treasured possession of her dear son.

Together with love for friends, sister and Dad,

From above he whispers, please don't be too sad.

I know it's hard, the heavens hear him say.

I'm sorry to leave you, but twas written on high,

I'll miss you, be brave, I ask that you try.

Remember our last kiss, the hello and goodbye,

Then celebrate my life, I'm God's star in the sky.
